Welcome Team Narwhals 8U Family!
I wanted to reach out to introduce myself and welcome back so many girls I've coached over the years! I'm excited for our season and can't wait to get started. I wanted to share some important information about our team and most importantly, thank you for joining our team...we are going to have lots of fun this Spring! I have a coaches meeting this Sunday, 6 March 2023 when I'll be provided our practice scheduling and location and a sample color of our jerseys (Pink!). As soon as I get our practice schedule and location I will be sure to reach out.
My Background
This is my third year (and 5th season) coaching the Narwhals, the last few years in the 6U league. I'm a father of two wonderful kids, Lily and Zac. I learned the game of baseball at age 4 and played all the way through high school. Along the way I had several amazing coaches, including my father, who taught me so much and were always encouraging. I have always wanted the opportunity to give back in the way so many of my coaches did. My goal with our team is to ensure the safety of our kids while we practice and play, all while having fun, getting exercise, and building friendships. If you ever have questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me anytime.
Team News
1) Our Team Color will be pink with a Narwhal logo on our jerseys. We will wear light grey baseball pants that you can find at such places as Dicks Sporting Goods or Amazon.
- Please reply to let me know what number (1st and 2nd choice) and confirm the t-shirt size your child would like (example: Youth size XS/S/M/L and #9 or #14) by Monday, March 6th, as the leaugue will be creating our jerseys for us!
2) Our Opening day and practice schedule will be provided to me at Sunday's coaches meeting and I will let you know as soon as possible.
3) For this season you will need the following items:
a) Glove
b) Protective Mask for fielding
c) Cleats
d) Socks (we can let the girls pick these and I can do a mass order for our team so we match...the cost is typically $10 to $12)
e) Helmet with protective mask (I have 3 helmets that i purchased for our team to share, but if you have one, please bring it to practice and games.)
f) Bat if you have one, we have a few extras to share.
Please let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to hearing from everyone soon!
