Tryouts will be held in February

Registration is now open for tryouts for the Middle School Softball program. If you attend, or are districted for, Simpson Middle School, Smarts Mill Middle School or Harper Park Middle School, register for tryouts through the Leesburg Girls Softball (LGSL) Registration page.

There is a $140 fee due at registration. If your player does not make their school's team, the $140 fee will be refunded.

Registration Open for Spring 2022 Season!

Registration is now open for the Spring 2022 softball season. LGSL provides a fun and safe environment for girls age 4-18 to learn and play the game of softball. 

LGSL age divisions and registration fees are:

• 6U Tee Ball - $100
• 8U Machine Pitch - $150
• 10U Kid Pitch - $150
• 12U Kid Pitch - $150
• Senior Division - $150

Register by January 2, 2022 and receive a $15 Early Bird Discount. Registrations received after February 20, 2022 will incur a $25 late fee, and registration closes on March 1, 2022.

Have more than one player in a household? Register them at the same time and take advantage of our $20 Siblings Discount.

Team practices will begin in mid-March and games will start in early April. The majority of LGSL games are played in the Leesburg area, however because LGSL participates in the Loudoun County Softball Alliance (the Alliance) a handful of games may be scheduled in Purcelville, Ashburn, Sterling or Herndon. Members of the Alliance include LGSL, Western Loudoun Softball League, Ashburn Girls Softball League, Lower Loudoun Girls Softball League and Herndon Reston Youth Sports.

UPDATE: August 13, 2021

LGSL will follow all COVID Guidelines set forth by the Loudoun County Department of Parks and Recreation and the Town of Leesburg. As of this time, we have not received a change in status since our last update. Any changes in COVID guidelines will be communicated to LGSL families as soon as we receive them.

UPDATE: May 19, 2021

Over the past week the the guidance regarding COVID-19 safety precautions has changed, and The League has been informed by both the Town of Leesburg and the Loudoun County Departments of Parks and Recreation that they are adujsting their guidance to fall in line with CDC guidelines as well as Virginia Governor Northam's ammended Executive Orders relating to the COVID State of Emergency.

What does this mean for LGSL and our COVID-19 policies?

• Effective immediately, fully vaccinated individuals who participate in or attend recreational sports are no longer required to wear a mask.
• Social distancing of 10 feet and field capacity limits are still in effect for recreational sports until those restrictions are lifted on May 28, 2021

While the country has made strides in combatting COVID-19, it is still a dangerous virus. LGSL wants to make sure that the playing environment is a safe one for all of our players, coaches and spectators, and highly recommends all non-vaccinated individuals to continue to wear a mask and observe social distancing guidelines. We also understand that there are many differing viewpoints regarding mask wearing/social distancing, and ask that everyone be respectful to the choices that others make, whether it is to continue to wear a mask or not. Parents, please discuss this with your players and remember that being a good teammate and displaying good sportsmanship is not something that is limited to the field of play.

Leesburg Girls Softball is committed to the health and safety of our players, coaches, volunteers and spectators. In order to return to play in the Fall of 2020, LGSL was required to submit a COVID-19 Safety plan to Loudoun County PRCS. This plan provides guidelines for players, coaches and spectators to ensure a safe playing environment, as related to COVID-19, as well as the procedures LGSL will take when notified of a COVID exposure within the League. The League’s Safety Plan and the PRCS Play it Smart guidelines remain in effect for the current season.
