Hopefully you will find our new site easier to navigate and find the information you are looking for.  Also, if you’re new to LGSL, I hope it helps you realize how much fun we have at the ballpark and you’ll want to join us this Spring!  Go to our Registration Site and tell your friends!

I’d like to extend a big thank you to Len Jenkins for many of these photos from last Spring’s Opening Day Ceremony. Len, I hope to see you on April 14! I know you parents have really nice cameras and I’m sure you have some great LGSL shots. Please send them to me and I’ll do my best to get them up on the site.

Many of you indicated on our Membership Survey you wanted Winter Training Clinics. Here you go…

Indoor Winter Training Clinics are held at 75 Lawson Road, Suite 205, Leesburg, VA 20176 (Next to Pump It Up)

February Clinics Registration Now Open!

Clinic Dates: February 5, 12, 19, 26

  • Session 6 – General Skills: Sunday Mornings, 9:00-10:00 AM
  • Session 7 – Hitting: Sunday Mornings, 10:15-11:15 AM
  • Session 8 – 8 and Older Pitching: Sunday Mornings, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
  • Session 9 – Hitting: Sunday Afternoons, 4:00 – 5:00 PM
  • Session 5 – 14U Advanced Clinic: Tuesday Nights, Jan 3-Mar 6, 8:00-9:30pm

March Clinics

New LGSL Director of Player & Coach Development, Karen Avvisato!

Karen comes to us with a very impressive resume:

  • Played softball on the Shamrocks Travel softball team from ages 10-18
  • 4-year varsity starter at Bishop O’Connell HS
  • 4-year full softball scholarship to Miami University of Ohio
  • Double Major and 2 BS degrees in Exercise Science and Sports Management, Master’s Degree in Sports Management, Minor in Coaching
  • Coached Varsity Softball, basketball and volleyball at Bishop O’Connell for 5 years
  • Coached Travel softball for 5 years
  • Certified Positive Coaching Alliance
  • Ran several softball camps and clinics with the Shamrock Organization
  • Taught several Coaching trainings
  • Executive Director of the Fairfax County Athletic Council- 1993-Present
  • 1993-Present – Employed by Fairfax County Government as the Director of Athletic Services for Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services (Schedule and Monitor over 1200 fields and gyms in Fairfax County and oversee over 200 Major Sports Organizations)
